OnBelievers & UnBelievers

©Adeyemi M. Adetunji

Thou hold nothing but the book
It has no power when subtly handled;
Wanting to argue and giggle-gaggle at the faith
But the power won’t be revealed unto thee

All time record bestseller
The word of God, the books, the bible
Today taken for reviews and tomorrow by critics to be criticized
O faithful who knows not the truth
How bewitched thou hast been!

Every corner of the crescent bears the word,
The alleluia has turned a back to an ak-bar
Would you not be awakened from thine slumber
Yo not named for Paul or Peter, Apollos or the apostles
But after the Son of God, Christ, King of all

Sometimes they say Merry Christmas
With a pure deceit of love
In return you feebly eat the sacrifices offered to idols
Are you, an onbeliever or offbeliever?

Do not be deceived;
God, by His word, came to the world, to save it
In flesh, as a Son, as man
Though e-mams won’t accept it
Because those who should hold it neglect it…

Stand, stand, stand strong
Be awakened o on-believers
Lest thou give thine pearls to pigs and they feed on the harvest
For no lie can quench the light, none!

Come by the blood,
Come to Calvary,
And then to Pentecost,
For the Holy Ghost is here!

Shine!
Shalom!

Elijah and Baal’s Bulls

©Adeyemi Michael Adetunji

So much to say concerning the lone prophet of Israel, a predecessor to another bald one. These men were dangerous entities that made great kings shake.
About Elijah, he indeed made a challenge to a tyrant king’s face, saying ‘You and your fathers…’

King Ahab was the importer of Baal and his prophets, having so defiled the land of Israel that Jehovah their God was not at ease with them at all. ‘When the head is bad, the body suffers’, it is said. Thus, the entire nation suffered the punishment for thirty and six months with famine and drought and deaths.
All this was because the king became an in-law to the great priest and king of Baal, one Ethbaal from Sidon. The king was married to Jezebel, one of the most feared names in the Scripture.

If you belonged to the prophethood and heard the name Jezebel, you’d just mellow and disappear.

But it happened that after a long drought, Elijah resurfaced and dashed into a challenge with the Baaleans.

You won’t believe what happened!

Elijah, the lone man got victory over them, about 850 of them he executed after telling the Israelites this…
“And Elijah came near to all the people, and said, “How long will you go limping with two different opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal, then follow him.” And the people did not answer him a word”
1Kings 18:21 RSV;
because they were confused Christians —oh, sorry, Israelites.

A lot did happen that may not be mentioned except read (See 1Kings 18 of the Bible).
But it was a SHOWDOWN at Mount Carmel, oh more than WWE’s SMACKDOWN! Elijah’s offering got the fire while Baal was asleep all day.

Here, my reasonings…

What if, there was an Elijah, but he had become one of the king’s loyal servants, because of bread and water?

What if, there was an Elijah and he feared so much to be the Elijah?

What if, there was an Elijah and he never returned to Israel because of Brook Kidron’s enjoyment?

What if, there was an Elijah who returned for a showdown, but lost?

What if, there was an indecisive Elijah who would follow what his friends did?

What if, there was an Elijah whose altar could not burn?

What if, there was an Elijah who was coerced to eat of Baal’s Bulls?

What would have been the end of an Elijah, who loved to eat from Baal’s altar?

And Elijah came near to all the people, and said, “HOW LONG WILL YOU GO LIMPING WITH TWO DIFFERENT OPINIONS? IF THE LORD IS GOD, FOLLOW HIM; BUT IF BAAL, THEN FOLLOW HIM.” And the people did not answer him a word.

Will you be an Elijah? What of the Baal’s Bulls in your pot, in your system, in your greedy eyes?

When Elijah cannot be consecrated to God and God alone, soon he would lose his fire.
We wouldn’t have known a prophet with fire today, if, he had partook of Baal’s Bulls.

The story would have become:
Elijah turned Baalzebub.

Romans 10:17
Faith that does not move your own heart cannot move a mountain. #ft

Lesson: The best way to get something, understand it and really acknowledge it, but fact is to have experienced it. It have been said that there is no currency of the spiritual that is as alive as (having) faith. Faith is the currency of the spiritual world, the value for any transaction. Have you wondered how the miraculous, spiritual things and testimonies comes by a carnal, fleshy and natural man? It’s just faith. Have you also wondered how a criminal so hard to get, a murderer or an assassin will suddenly come to himself and repent? It is also faith. Then how does this faith works?

“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” We need to take that verse of the Romans epistle explicitly and dynamically. ‘So then’, that is, it has been confirmed, that ‘faith comes by hearing’. Faith will only be active when one have heard something, something like a testimony or a story? ‘And hearing by the word of God’. So the Spirit will only be active by the word of God that is spoken.

However, I remembered the apostle Paul with that how would they know except someone preaches. He also attested that he will not be ashamed of the Gospel of Christ Jesus which is power. The word of God will be known only when it is being preached. A light will be hidden, except it is projected. Is your faith activated or active? It can only be by the word of God. Be a faith personnel, only them can please God. Nevertheless, faith can die.

FOCUS TODAY: I have found it hard to believe that a prayer can be heard by God without an active faith, just somewhere, it is impossible. #fact #focustoday

A Voice

Isaiah 40:3-5
These are the days of the servant, that baptize.

Lesson: See to this: a deaf and dumb school having just few pupils, with a motto on a dull sign post ‘A Voice’. What do you mean? This people really meant it, that they designed every spot on their uniform with the two words -A Voice. One may be deaf or dumb or burned with both unfortunately. But that doesn’t stop him from being a voice. A voice doesn’t necessarily mean something you use to speak, sing or converse, but something in you that speaks.

“The voice of one crying in the wilderness: “Prepare the way of the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill be brought low. And all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” The voice is not the talking mouth but the talking life. The voice referred to in this prophecy of Isaiah is everyone who is a Way person today.

It was mainly referred to the one called John the Baptist who was driven along the wilderness. He was to preach the way of the Lord, and the coming Messiah who was to come, and in deed came. Then this message of the voice is directed to us by the One who brought the Way Himself, when He sent out the disciples, the church on the great commission. You also need to become a voice whether in the wilderness or in the city, prepare ye the coming of the Lord.

FOCUS TODAY: Have you imagined or wondered how the people went to meet John despite being in the wilderness? He was a voice. People are always drawn to a real voice. #fact #focustoday
